Microsoft Launches
Fix it Help Pages

CUGOL
will have a Guest Speaker on "Fix it" at the March meeting.

Tommy Campbell is a Program Manager in Product Quality with Microsoft. He has served many functions with MS and is currently working on the "Fix it" team. There are several variations of "Fix it"; three are shown on page two of this newsletter. The first is like a regular support page, but is easier to navigate. There is also a Facebook and a Blog page. You can use the page with which you are the most comfortable.
When Tommy asked to speak to our group, I told him we have members who are novices, intermediates, and pros.
His response was, "No fear, as the whole idea behind Fix it is to give everyday users like my mom and dad an easy automated way to fix common computer problems without being an IT guru."
     Sites he mentioned are:
http://support.microsoft.com/fixit
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=31851234220
http://blogs.technet.com/fixit4me/

This should be an interesting and informational meeting. He says his presentation will be about 15 minutes with time for Q & A.

Let's have a good turnout for this program.

Charles F. Mize President's Notes

I would like to collect a list of helpful/informative URL's in addition to those on CUGOL's site.
This would include search engines, "how-to" sites, anti-hoax sites, and informative sites. I don't need joke, political, or sites some may find offensive. Send suggestions to: welcome2cugol@gmail.com
I will compile them into a handout for members and visitors.
